Label Text
This religious text is executed in Rayhani script. The colophon reads, "This work has been completed by the hand of the poor servant Omar, one of the students of Suleiman, Effendi, in the year 1123." The gold design on the flap of the binding is painted, while the border is stamped. Common in Near Eastern art is the arabesque design, gilded and painted with attention to fine detail.
