A high-heeled shoe, a toilet brush, a dog dish, a gardening glove, and a Teletubby doll are just a few of the found objects included in this work, all unified by a hue of green. This large-scale assemblage displays mass-produced consumer products in the context of high art—an approach the Pop artists first used in the 1960s. Linda Pace attached the objects to squares of artificial turf, creating tension between that which is man-made and the environment.

Pace was an avid artist, art collector, and philanthropist. As the founder of Artpace San Antonio, an international contemporary art residency program, Pace cultivated emerging artists, which the program continues to this day. Her private collection of more than five hundred artworks, maintained by the Linda Pace Foundation, is a testament to her passion for contemporary art.
