This elaborate tin frame holds 53 milagros, also known as promesas or ex-votos. These small objects are offered as petitions to saints or sacred sites, or as symbols of gratitude for answered prayers. These milagros are intended to be admired as works of art, as they are taken out of their devotional context.

Este marco de estaño elaborado tiene 53 milagros colgados. Estos objetos también son conocidos como promesas o exvotos. Los milagros son colgados por devotos dentro de iglesias o capillas como peticiones a los santos o lugares sagrados, o como símbolos de gratitud por las oraciones respondidas. Cada milagro representa a un animal, una persona arrodillada en oración, o una parte del cuerpo – sujetos de la petición del devoto que lo cuelga. Estos milagros están señalados a ser vistos como obras de arte, ya que aparecen fuera de su contexto devocional y están colocados dentro de un marco elaborado.
