Label Text"I have always been intrigued by the
enormous and sometimes mysterious
powers of what we cannot see with the
human eye. Therefore, I always intend
to paint something I've never seen; some-
thing I could not describe."
Eduardo Daniel Rodriguez
Working in the tradition of the Abstract Expressionist artists of the 1950s, Rodriguez views painting as a process of investigation, and titles his abstractions towards the completion of each. This painting is from a period when he was thinking about scale and measurement. The disks that float on the surface reminded him of pills or computer chips, small things that are measured in tiny doses or bytes, yet which have enormous impact on the way we live our lives. The artist's interpretation of the imagery is only one of many possible responses, however, and viewers are encouraged to find their personal or varied meanings in it.
