DescriptionA green glazed terracotta funerary model of a watchtower, and of unusually large size. The ground floor with a court-yard and single figure. The first and second stories incorporating balconies held up by flying supports. Each balcony is protected by a pitched tile roof. The decoration is both molded and incised with geometric forms. The post and beam construction is a clue to Han wooden architecture, none of which has survived. The tower is glazed on three sides leaving the back as unglazed terracotta. On view
