DescriptionAn ornate roll-top desk made with three tones of wood; each side of the desk contains four drawers, and two additional drawers are located above the quarter-round shutter. The top of the desk is adorned with a life-like wooden bust of the Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes, held aloft by two cherubs. The floral wreath surrounding the bust depicts the central emblem on the Mexican coat of arms - an eagle devouring a serpent while perched atop a prickly pear cactus.Provenancepurchased by G.
