Label Text
On this bowl, the polychrome painted motifs cover nearly all of its interior and exterior surfaces. All three human figures illustrated on the vessel wear headdresses with waterlily symbolism. Waterlilies may also be represnted by the grid with black dots, which may signify netting. Waterlillies are signifiers of water which would suggest that the story told on this vessel is linked to the watery underworld. (Bernadette Cap, 2020).
