Side B: Two warriors fighting
The scene on this amphora occurred at the end of the Trojan War: the Trojan hero Aeneas is depicted fleeing the burning city of Troy with his father Anchises on his back. A woman, presumably Aeneas’s wife, Creusa, precedes them, while a Scythian archer crouches behind Aeneas. (Jessica Powers, 2008)
