The perfumes exported from Corinth around the Mediterranean in the 7th and 6th centuries B.C. came in distinctive bottles, including ones shaped like animals. This alabastron made in Etruria imitates the buff-colored fabric and painting technique of the Corinthian vases. (Jessica Powers 2008)
