The natural climate and environment of Mesoamerica typically prevents the preservation of textiles, which makes clay figurines of humans important for glimpses of what people wore in the past. This figurine is shown wearing a textile with a complex design. This tells of the mastery of weaving in the Veracruz region. In addition, a comparison of clothing between this and other figurines could indicate status of varying kinds. (Bernadette Cap, 2022)
