This unique U-shaped pendant is diagnostic of cultures who lived in West Mexico. Obsidian is a fragile material and it would have taken an expert knapper to create this object. The hole to string the pendant is not complete, leading to questions about why it was not finished. (Bernadette Cap, 2022)
