The inscription on this base reads:

"By the power of erecting this statue of Maitreya, may Lodro Gyaltshen obtain omniscience. May the patron be flourishing in life, force, glory, and wealth. Accomplished successfully by the maker Chandra. May happiness prevail."

As the inscription indicates, the present example was a Tibetan commission; however, it was made by the Nepalese artist Chandra.
