Label Text
This sculpture is part of the support for a marble table. Small marble tables with a single leg, designed to be placed against a wall, were a luxurious Roman furnishing. The legs of such tables were often carved in the form of gods or mythological figures as in this example, which depicts Leda embracing the swan.
