DescriptionAn elaborately detailed saddle, with tooled and incised leather, a silver pommel, and a seat made of carved bone.Label TextThis saddle would have been used by a charro, or a traditional Mexican horseback rider, for formal events such as charreadas, equestrian events similar to rodeos. The saddle is made of carved and appliquéd leather, with silver accents and a seat made of carved bone. The engraved and encrusted pommel of the saddle is characteristic of the equestrian metalwork made in the community of Amozoc, Puebla.
Esta silla de montar fue hecha para un charro, el jinete tradicional mexicano, para ser utilizada en charreadas o eventos ecuestres similares a los rodeos. La silla está elaborada de cuero repujado con aplicaciones, superficies de plata repujada y un asiento de hueso tallado. La cabeza de la silla posee decoraciones que son características de la orfebrería ecuestre de la comunidad de Amozoc, Puebla.
