DescriptionThis finely potted boar stands in an alert pose and has a small head with long snout and with a pair of fangs from the lower jaw protruding over the upper lip. The long ears fold down and the eyes wide open under wrinkled brows. The body contoured, and the low-slung belly was pierced with a vent. Flat slabs are found between the front legs and rear legs. The gray pottery has very lightly specked surface and shows traces of buff earth from burial.Provenanceacquired by J.J. Lally in Hong Kong; sold by J.J.
