DescriptionThis skirt is constructed with three sections: a white waist band, a pleated indigo died middle section, and a hem decorated with wax resist died patterns. The skirt pleats, in particular on the front half, are meticulously formed by hand, hardened by plant glue, and then carefully stiched together. The colors on this skirt are from plant pigments, including the reddish brown band on the front. The deep and even blue color is from indigo plant and acheived through multiple times of dyeing.
