DescriptionRound bowl with decorative patterns inlaid in gold and silver. On the shoulder, six roundels depicting men on horseback are separated by oval cartouches enclosing inscriptions. The interior is decorated with a school of fish.Label TextA fine example of the consummate craftsmanship and artistry of the late medieval Islamic metalsmith, the exterior of this bowl is decorated with six calligraphic cartouches alternating with six horsemen. On the interior, at the bottom of the vessel, a circle of whimsical fish hints that the bowl was intended as a water container. The bowl is also inscribed with the names of its previous owners.
