DescriptionReserved with a molded five-clawed dragon in the biscuit and covered in a cobalt blue glaze. Per translation from Etude Couturier Nicolay Sale, June 18, 1982: "An important Incense-Burner with flat handles and with the pierced central part resting upon 3 small feet, in deep blue--slightly purple--enamelled porcelain. The bowl is ornate with 3 dragons having 5 claws pursuing themselves among some clouds. They are formed, in slight relief, recaptured in sculpture (chisel) and reserved in biscuit upon the bottom enamel. Upon the exterior border, the Jiajing mark in 6 characters is arranged horizontally."Exhibition HistorySan Antonio Museum of Art, San Antonio, Legacy of Beauty: An Exhibition of Chinese Ceramics in Honor of Walter F.
