DescriptionTing type ware with a meandering flower and leaf scroll molded into the surface. These white porcelains are thinly potted with a hard white body and usually having unobtrusive molded or carved decorations under the glaze which was typical of Sung taste. These pieces were usually fired on their rims to minimize warping and this example is unusual, having been fired on its slightly raised foot.ProvenanceGeorge Eumorfopoulos Collection (B-32)Exhibition HistoryOrangerie des Tuileries, Paris, 1937, Arts de la Chine Ancienne, no. 620; Oriental Ceramic Society, Exhibition of Sung Dynasty wares, Ting, Ying Chiang and Ts'u Chou, London, 1949, no. 127.On view
