DescriptionMold-made stamp of a monkey with arms bent up at the elbow. Legs are bent at the knees.Label TextStamps such as this were made from molds which made it easy to create many copies. This and other stamps may have been used with dyes or paints to create patterns on cloth or the human body. This stamp depicts a monkey which is a reflection of the natural world in which the Mexica (Aztec) resided. (Bernadette Cap, 2022)Provenancewith Robert K.
