DescriptionA large storage jar with steep sides and narrow, rounded shoulder and broad slightly flaring neck and everted mouthrim; the broad footring with a shallow recessed base; stoneware carved and combed around the body with a broad band of scrolling, flowering peony below a narrow band of incised cloud scrolls; the carved background of the peony scroll dressed in iron red; the remained with white slip; the whole covered with a transparent glaze.ProvenanceFormerly with J.J.
