DescriptionA rare and delicately painted blue and white slender vase with a narrow neck and flared lip. The body is decorated with a romantic scene of court figures and attendants in a garden scene set between an-hua borders at the shoulder and foot, made up of scrolling foliage and hatch-pattern.Label TextIn the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, blue and white porcelain was often decorated with scenes drawn from popular novels and plays. The story on this bottle vase depicts Lady Wang, a member of the Han dynasty Imperial court, being married.
